Despite trying different recipes, my potatoes didn't turn out as crispy as the ones I saw in trending videos, and I came to the conclusion that crispiness depends on the type of potato. But I still got the best results with this recipe.
For boiling
For seasoning
For the sauce
For the topping
Method
- 1.Try to choose potatoes that are slightly smaller than medium. First, wash the potatoes thoroughly.
- 2.Add the potatoes, baking soda, and salt to a pot full of water and boil until the inside is soft (approximately 25-30 minutes).
- 3.Once ready, drain the water and wait for them to cool.
- 4.Then, add the spices and vegetable oil to a dry bowl and mix.
- 5.Place parchment paper on a baking sheet, arrange the potatoes on top, and smash them with the bottom of a glass.
- 6.Spread the remaining spiced oil evenly over them and bake in a preheated oven at 205°C on the middle rack with top and bottom heat until golden brown (approximately 25-35 minutes).
Notes
- Be sure to use corn or sunflower oil; otherwise, the chances of them becoming crispy decrease, and the oil will burn at high baking temperatures.
